Both the European Council and the European Commission have recognised the value of the EGT as a forum for the exchange of views and best practices in the field of training for civilian crisis management. Plenary meetings of the network, together with participation in working groups and public conferences are at least partly aimed at expanding the number of Member States actively involved in the network and engaging them on training and recruitment issues.
