The Core Course
New EGT members have expressed interest in adopting the EGT Core Course curriculum. Therefore, the Core Course Working Group (WG) led by the Austrian Center for International Peace Operations (ASPR) hosted a workshop to introduce the Core Course concept to States who do not currently run this training. During the workshop, existing EGT members and former Core Course organisers will provide technical assistance to States and training institutions who would like to deliver training courses in the future. This WG was led by the Austrian Study Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution (ASPR).
Civilian Response Teams (CRT)
The 5th CRT induction course, co-financed by the European Commission, took place in October 2008. This course was organised by the Crisis Management Centre (CMC) in Finland. CRT training has now exceeded the goal of training a stand-by force of 100 members. The EGT will review and evaluate the CRT training programme and report back to the European Commission. In 2008, two CRTs were deployed in, respectively, the Palestinian Territories and in Georgia.
Justice Rapid Response (JRR)
The JRR Working Group (WG) has successfully developed and piloted a training curriculum, modules and course materials for Justice Rapid Response training, in collaboration with other partners in the Justice Rapid Response Network. This WG was led by the Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF) in Berlin and the pilot course was held on the 8th to the 16th May 2009.
Press & Public Information (PPI)
The PPI Working Group (WG) has successfully piloted a course focusing on Press & Public Information needs of missions. This course built on the design and development work carried out under Phase V. The WG and course were both led by Austrian Study Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution (ASPR), and the pilot course was held on the 29th November to the 7th December 2009.
